See our latest Virginia Lottery winners from March

April Fools’ Day marked the beginning of April, but the winners maps for March are no joke! These maps show all Lottery prizes over $1,000 that were claimed last month.

March 2021 Winners

In March, the Lottery had more than 2,000 retail players win a prize of over $1,000, which totaled over $141 million in prizes! More than 700 online-games players won a prize of over $1,000, which totaled $6.1 million in prizes!

One of the retail winners was Ricky Chitwood of Franklin County. He bought a Blazin’ Hot Crossword 5X Scratcher at Stop In Food Store in Wirtz. When he scratched it, he discovered he had won the game’s $100,000 top prize.

“I was really surprised!” he told Virginia Lottery officials as he claimed his prize.

Norma Blanchard of Virginia Beach scratched her way to a $1,000,000 prize! She was on her way home from work and stopped to fill up her car at the Love Food Mart at 920 Diamond Springs Road in Virginia Beach. She picked up a few Virginia Lottery Scratchers. Little did she know that one of them, a Green Ca$h Million$ ticket, was a top-prize winner.

Once she scratched the ticket and saw that she won, she showed the winning ticket to her son.

“He threw the ticket in the air while I was yelling and screaming!” she later told Lottery officials.
