See our latest Virginia Lottery winners from July

July was an exciting month for us at the Virginia Lottery! We launched our new Lottery Online offering. Now, you can play some of your favorite draw games, as well as exciting new instant games, right from your computer, phone or tablet!

But our Lottery Online launch isn't the only reason we're celebrating. During July, we had more than $104 million in prizes claimed across Virginia. That's way too many to fit on our winner map below, so we're only showcasing the winners of $1,000 or more. That's more than 2,000 Virginia Lottery players collectively winning more than $21 million playing games such as Pick 3, Print 'n Play and Scratchers! One of our first big winners in July was Michelle Rivera of Stafford. She won the top prize of $2,777,777 playing the Lucky 7s Cash Blowout ticket.

“I kept saying, ‘I can’t believe I won!’” she told Lottery officials as she claimed her prize. “The clerk told me to stop saying I won out loud and go home!”

$454,791 isn't a regular Lottery top prize, but that's exactly the amount that Anthony Knight won playing Print 'n Play Rolling Jackpot. It was about 3:45 a.m., and the Broadway man was on his way to work when he stopped at a Virginia Lottery retailer. He bought a Rolling Jackpot ticket and tucked it above the visor in his vehicle. He probably should have looked a little more closely at the ticket. If he did, he would have seen that he’d just won $454,791!

Instead, he went on to meet his electrical work crew along I-66 in the Manassas area. It wasn’t until several hours later that he happened to check the ticket and realized he’d won big.

“I was yelling and waving the ticket,” Mr. Knight recalled. “They must have thought I was crazy.”

Another recent Lottery winner, James LaBouve, had a very interesting choice to make: Receive either $1,000 every week for the rest of his life or a one-time cash option of $1 million. The Virginia Beach man got the choice when he matched the first five winning numbers in the June 29 Cash4Life® drawing.

“I couldn’t believe it!” he told Lottery officials. “It was just disbelief.”
