When the first Tuesday of a month arrives, so do new Virginia Lottery Scratchers
The Virginia Lottery has a varied roster of games including Powerball and Pick 4.
But one category of games offers diversity in appearance and fun that few can match: Scratchers. To be clear, Scratchers are scratch-off lottery tickets. There are tickets ranging in price from $1 to $30, and each ticket has its own beautiful design. The games offer a variety of themes, playstyles and winning experiences, and some offer 2nd Chance or eXTRA Chances opportunities for non-winning tickets. Each game has different prizes too.
On the first Tuesday of every month, the Lottery releases a lineup of new games. These new games are meant to complement the games already in the market; they’re also meant to offer something new to Lottery players.
The September game launch should do both. On Sept. 3, the Lottery released five new games (ticket price in parentheses): Heads or Tails ($1), Monster Ca$h ($2), 7X The Money ($3), $500K Cash ($5) and $5 Million Dollar Series ($20).
The September launch is an excellent example of the scope of a new-game rollout. The launch includes an easy-to-play game (Heads or Tails), a seasonal game (Monster Ca$h) to scare up some fun, a refresh to a member in a family of games (7X The Money), a game with a $500,000 top prize ($500K Cash) and a game series (there are three ticket designs in the $5 Million Dollar Series) that features the chance to win up to $5 million.
The point is this: The first Tuesday of every month is exciting. So be sure to keep your eyes open for new games. The Lottery rolls out games all year, and you never know what’s next.
